The Plough at 38 and Activate Learning are proud to be partners creating and for the development of fully-trained, ambitious and skilled talent for industry-leading restaurants. With a national skills shortage threatening the catering industry, it is now more important than ever to support, encourage and train the chefs and hospitality leaders of tomorrow. By taking Activate Learning's catering and hospitality students out of the classroom and into the real world, The Plough at 38 can give them the skills they need to succeed in the workplace and kick-start their kitchen, restaurant and hospitality careers.

Activate Learning is a pioneering education group with a global reach. The group comprises secondary, further and higher education, apprenticeship and business training.

Our partnerships with industry are establishing clear pathways to employment for every learner, co-created and co-delivered with employers.

Activate Learning prepares our students for further education progression and working life through our Learning Philosophy, a unique approach to teaching and learning. We’ve identified the important relationship between the brain, motivation and emotions in creating the right environment for effective learning and to create strong, sustainable relationships with employers. Partners like The Plough help co-design and co-deliver our curriculum and provide real-life work experience and career opportunities for learners.

We are delighted to be working with The Plough on providing unique and valuable work experience for our students at an exciting, new city-centre bar and restaurant. Through this partnership, we are creating a pipeline of fully-trained, ambitious and skilled talent for industry-leading hospitality and catering companies. Our learners join the workforce with the skills and experience that can only be gained on the job, and employers benefit from recruiting motivated employees who are ready to work and contribute to business growth.
